I first learned about “The Gift of the Divine Will” when I had the good fortune of interviewing Daniel O’Connor in October 2021 (Click here for the recording of that show). I was immediately drawn to Luisa Piccarreta and the messages she received from Jesus over the course of almost 40 years.
“The Book of Heaven: The Call to the Creatures to the Order, to the Place and to the Purpose for Which They Were Created by God” consists of 36 volumes of the messages. In addition there are other books Luisa wrote, many websites, lots of videos and more information then you can probably consume in a lifetime. The purpose of this page, then, is to give you some of the basics which you can use as a launching point to all of the resources out there.
Where to begin? I have twice interviewed Mother Gabrielle Marie, foundress of the Benedictine Daughters of the Divine Will. She and her Sisters dedicate their lives to studying and teaching others about the Divine Will. During the September 25th show, Mother mentioned two resources that she believes provide the best way to get started. The first was the “Drop Book” series. You can purchase the book in paperback on Amazon. You can download the book as a .pdf file by clicking here.
The second resource is an introductory work written by Tony Hickey entitled, “Living in the Kingdom of the Divine Will” If you would prefer to “listen” to this introduction, it is broken up into three videos you can find on YouTube:

These two resources will be a great way to introduce yourself to the Luisa Piccarreta and the Gift of the Divine Will.
Now that you know who Luisa is and have some basic knowledge of her writings you will want to start reading her works. There are three different works that comprise the majority of the messages Luisa received and her writings that go with them.
The first is the 36-volumes comprising the messages entitled “The Book of Heaven”. The link above will get you all the volumes in a single hardbound book. Pages are thin and print is small. I use this since it’s the easiest way to have all the volumes with me. You can download the volumes in .pdf format for free here. You can download the volumes in .doc format AND listen to them here. On the second site there is tons of other material – video, audio and text available!
The second work you will definitely want to incorporate into your daily reading and meditation is, “The Twenty-Four Hours of the Passion”. You can download a PDF version here and listen to an audio version of each hour here.
A third work which is ideal for the month of May is “The Virgin Mary in the Kingdom of the Divine Will (PDF)”. An audio version (by day) is also available here.
Some may have heard that there are issues with Luisa’s writings or that her cause for canonization has been paused or stopped. The canonization process had been paused, never stopped, and in August of 2024 the announcement was made that “the pause” had been lifted and the 36 volumes, in Italian, received a “nihil obstat”. We are hoping that an English version will receive the same acknowledgement soon. The nihil obstat means that no one, religious or otherwise, should be telling people not to read Luisa’s writings. The Vatican has published the official biography of Luisa, “The Sun of My Will”, which is available on the Vatican website. If you do a search on Sun of My Will you will find other retailers, including used copies, available here in the US.
